From all of the worlds known in the universe, Tuul had always been known as the most peaceful one. From the beginning of times, it was always ruled by a single shamanistic priest, blessed with the greatest boon — the gift of all knowledge. This position was passed on from the father to the eldest son through hundred of generations unbroken.
It was in the time of king Thoros reign when the twin brothers were born. Great Thoros was the ninety-ninth in the line, and his son was supposed to lead tuulips into a new era of prosperity. However, he wasn't sure which son was the right one. As the boys aged, he tested them with exhaustive trials and not one of the twins was clearly ahead of the other. He admittedly realized the uselessness these tests only after the princes reached puberty.
Years have passed and the old king left his throne for a long monastic journey. In this journey, a solution finally came to senescent priest's mind. As soon as he was able to return to civilization, he set up a meeting with his grown sons near the borders of a great desert, known to his people as the Sands of Sorrow.
His plan was simple, but bizarre. In lasting meditation, Thoros was granted a vision of a ritual, which would split his body and, thus, his demigod powers would divide into two vessels. Gems — one of a pure light and one made from his inner darkness. All of his wisdom and knowledge are contained within those gems, and each son will be able to choose one gem for himself.
Three days later, the twins returned from the Sands, each bearing a gem. They announced that their father had passed away. The repercussions of this event would forever change the fate of Tuul.
After that day, each son claimed half of the tuulip kingdom, which divided their people into two distinct populations. Those who
followed
the Lightstone established the kingdom of Androth to the north of the desert. Those who chose the Darkstone settled south in a region they called Ka'dra'suul.

an unexpected return
Sixteen years later, aged king, Blackthorne is contacted by his most trusted advisor, Onehand, who left the forests for Stonefist after Galadril's death. She informs the king about a universal threat she had foreseen. Oppressed by Blackthorne's rule, a group of ka'dra succeeded in stealing the Blackstone and used its power to teleport their armies to the Earth, where they began a rapid conquest.
Burdened by his last years of rule and the decisions he had to make, the king sees this conflict as an opportunity to retire. After thorough planning, he leaves the
Tuul by himself, equipped with a Lightstone and the best gear Androth has to offer.
As he appears in
Europe, in the middle of a massive battleground, Blackthorne comes into contact with U.N. forces, who recognize him as a former terrorist and take him hostage. Despite the fact that during the first interrogations he was considered insane, very soon he enlists the command's support after successfully demonstrating his extensive knowledge of the ka'dra methods of war. He is later accepted to be part of the U.N. forces as mercenary and begins to serve as an advisor to governments all around the world.
During one of the most heavy and violent battles, Blackthorne discovers intel that may lead him to the ka'dra command. With this information, he successfully infiltrates the enemy keep only to find out that it was an adversary's plan all along. Ka'dra had no need for the Earth. Thier inner hate for the Blackstone was well-known — most of ka'dra loathed it and blamed for their curse and only a few amoral enough — like
Sarlac — used it for their personal goals. But there was no such enmity for the Lightstone among people of Ka'dra'suul. On the contrary, they envied andrathi, and they hoped it could fix their broken state.
Unwilling to deliver
the Lightstone to a bunch of warmongering culprits, the former king makes a decision that will change the galaxy forever. After both the Lightstone and the Darkstone were
shattered into pieces from an explosive rupture, the space-time continuum collided, merging the multiverse. This colossal event changed the face of the galaxy. The man named Kyle Blackthorne was never to be seen again.
After teleporting to the Earth, Kyle Vlaros rapidly began to lose all his memories. When he was finally found, he got adopted by a family named Blackthorne. For a child of his age, he was in great physical form and had inquiring mind. The only mystery of his past — his memories — was never to be explained but sometimes strange dreams haunted him.
After he graduated, his life path was crystal clear for him. Without any second thought, he joined the U.S. military and later became the marine officer. Captain Blackthorne turned into a mercenary early in his career, after receiving a medical discharge from the Corps. He had since fought in dozens of military actions all over the world and soon became famous for his cold, shrewd and calculating mind. It was during those years that he came into conflict with African warlord named Moswali, an argument that later turned out to be fatal.
U.N. had hoped to negotiate a peace agreement for the small, war-torn East African country with Moswali being the last stumbling block in it. And Kyle Blackthorne was one of the first things Moswali demanded.
Despite this demands U.N. commanders could not sell out human like this, so they brought Blackthorne to the court-martial for his «infamous war crimes».
With help of his noteworthy survival skills and military prowess, Kyle was able to escape his prison and during his desert run visions, sent by Galadril, began to disturb Blackthorne. It was unknown to him that the old royal advisor secretly followed his life and came to the decision that it was finally time to return the heir home. After sending Kyle his fair share of visions, Galadril contacted prince Vlaros and explained that these dreams were actually old memories which broke through memory block that the sorcerer had placed on him. Not long after, Blackthorne was teleported to the xandralite mines of Androth which were now used as a Ka'dra'suul prison camp.
After reuniting with his people, Kyle starts a successful slave rebellion and finally gets a chance to see the royal sorceror in person. They meet as old friends and as converse goes Galadril explains that the only person who would know what their next move should be is Seer Onehand. Having no time for celebrations, Kyle travels to the Karnellian Swamps.
After a long, bloody search in the most dangerous muds, Blackhorne finally finds the druid and she instantly admires his strength. Unable to help him out of the forests, she sends the prince on an ultimate quest to the Sands of Sorrow. There, Kyle discovers the ancient
statue built upon the Grave of Thoros and comes in a contact with the ninety-ninth king himself. King Thoros explained that he is now trapped by the power of
Sarlac's and the Darkstone, and can only give the Blackhorne a portion of his power. After the complex ritual is complete, Kyle notices a dramatic increase in his power. Believing that he is finally ready to face Sarlac, Blackhorne heads off to the Shadow Keep.
Infused with Thoros' essense, Blackthorne bursts into the castle and almost single-handedly kills all of Sarlac's royal guard. When the dark lord and the royal heir finally meet in an epic confrontation, Kyle's might surpasses even Sarlac's shadow spells — while evading the mortal danger, he practically tears the ka'dra into pieces with a shotgun and explosives
With the evil of
Sarlac defeated, the Darkstone no longer posed a threat to the Androthi people. As heir to the throne of Vlaros, Blackthorne hid it from the sight in vault beneath the Shadow Keep and was later declared the leader of the Androthi nation. In following years, Sarlac's remaining forces were destroyed and a new Stonefist was constructed. As a king, Blackthorne came to be respected by his friends and feared his enemies. The skull of Sarlac, his greatest enemy was hanged on the wall of the throne room as a trophy, but also as a reminder.
ЕWithin years, xandralite became the most expensive good in Ka'dra'suul. At the age when most of the ka'dra lived a cold, ill life without light, a young warrior arose among the people. His name was Sarlac, and he believed that the northern Androthi enjoyed an unfair share of Tuul's blessed resources. It was up to ka'dra to set right what once went wrong. He started to preach and eventually swept into power, becoming the lord of a great central castle he called Shadow Keep.
Thirsty for blood, the newborn ruler led his people north. Unprepared, Androthi were quickly overrun by Sarlac's' hordes. They were then forced to work in their own mines as slaves, extracting xandralite for hungering Darkstone.
The Androthi ruler of this era was wise king Vlaros. After discovering that his domain was under attack, the king contacted his best friend and advisor, Tuul's residing sorcerer Galadril. After hearing the reports, Galadril immediately set out on the road in search of the meaning behind Sarlac's aggression. After a thorough investigation, he uncovered the terrifying truth and hastily headed for the great Karnellian Swamps — dark and twisted by an unknown blight kind of a region in which a legendary druid Onehand resided. Onehand was well-known for her prophetic powers but when sorcerer was finally able to find her it was way too late.
"He could not be stopped," she said. "It is his destiny to rule for at least twenty years. At the end of that time this destiny could be changed, but only through the power of
the Lightstone wielded by the proper heir of the throne."
In despair, Galadril went back to the Stonefist only to discover that Sarlac's army was already laying siege on the city. King Vlaros listened to sorcerer's report in cold blood. When he finally spoke, his own voice was firm and determined. "We could not allow the Lightstone to fall into Sarlac 's hands. The heir from Onehand's prophecy must be my son, Kyle. We need to send him somewhere safe."
Royal advisor frowned thoughtfully. "The only place I can think of is our ancient outpost — the Golatrix Complex. It is located on the planet named Earth, which is populated by the people similar to Androthi."
"Then take my son and
the Lightstone there immediately, old friend. It may be our only hope."
Prince Kyle Vlaros at the time was still young, but his last memory of Tuul: memory of his father saying goodbye will stay with him until the end of his life.
On the south of the borderlands, Androthi built a huge city-keep and named it Stonefist in memory of Thoros' sacrifice. They revered the Lightstone dearly and placed it in a central courtyard, surrounded by gardens of exotic flora that flourished under the stone's vibrant energy.
Ka'dra were not so sure where to place
the Darkstone as its shifting energies made them secretly fear it. After a long string of debates, they finally buried it in the catacombs beneath the central keep of the great castle. And since then, even though their population grew, they became to suffer strangle physical and psychological transformations.
As
the Darkstone was neglected by its people, it responded by molding ka'dra into a cruel race of monstrous beings. Fortunately, the two kingdoms were separated from each other and the Androth was safe from their southern neighbors for ages.
Ka'dra'suul was always rich with xandralite — the energy-radiating soft metal used by both races for heat and light. However, as the vampiric
Darkstone drained their supplies for centuries, this life-giving fuel was doomed to be exhausted.
